Today is November 26th 2020. Most of us may feel a little lonely this year greeting the Holidays with Covid-19 watch We greatly miss kids with joyful voices dashing through the kitchen and trying to reach out to dessert before the dinner. Adults catching up quick conversations sipping a mulled wine. A sweet happy talks hovering in the room while delicious aroma of roasting Turkey coming from the oven. And me in the kitchen just trying to make sure that everybody having a good food, good time and Happy Thanksgiving gathering! |
All is quiet today!
Nevertheless, my hope for a greater holiday cheers always gives me an energy go on this beautiful life.
For everybody out there, I am thinking maybe this quiet time given us to all humans to hear our inner voices, reevaluate our values to respect and love one another even more and choose laughter over misery!
Cheers to Our Health and Happiness!

WE Continue to try enjoying our life during these extended Challenging times October 2020
We Cherish, Appreciate each other and adjust our Principles to our new life style!
Today is October 7th 2020 and we still are fighting back with Covid-19 as a Nation and as a whole world.
We have been following every news, and health care source, to learn more about this virus since January 2020. We know now much better how to protect ourselves from this deadly and extremely contagious virus. We need to wear a face mask that cover our nose and mouth completely, in the public and at anywhere that we become close contact (closer than 6-7 feet) to the other people. Using goggles, eye glasses are also extra protection measure outside of the house. Being aware not to touch our face at almost all the time is next best caution Washing our hands very often, principally as soon as coming home from outside is a very preventative practice. Keeping all these in mind, we should also keep our immune system boosted. Adjusting our Life style and our diet makes this possible. Adequate sleeping habits according to age groups, exercise daily and proper diet is all we need to do. Life is busy and tough and focusing on your health may not be as easy. I would suggest focus on what you need at a time and simplify life as much as you can. Try to leave unnecessary details aside. |
As long as you can sleep 7-8 hrs. you are ready for 20 minutes exercise. You don’t have to go to gym to exercise. There are many exercising tools at home for everyday life. holding a full water bottle with ea. hand would be good for light lifting weight purpose. Going up and down to stairs keeping up your heart beat is vital enough for as short as 5 minutes. Simple yoga movements would help to stretch out your muscles. The key is not making heavy exercise the key is keep moving without hurting yourself regularly and breathing correctly.
A fairly good diet requires real simple cooking rules. For instance, couple boiled eggs, row or boiled vegetables, grilled or pan-fried chicken breast, tossed salads, boiled spaghetti, few bread slices, piece of cheese, a bowl of yogurt, nuts and seeds, fruits, glass of milk or almond milk only takes 10-15 minutes to prepare.
You are good to go as long as the ingredients contain necessary vitamins and minerals and avoiding sugar completely. Among all necessary vitamin and mineral and antioxidants for a healthy body, today we focus on the foods on Vitamin A, Vitamin D, Vitamin C, Vitamin B6- B12, Zinc which we learned key elements to prevent the virus especially.
Zinc –1 C pumpkin seeds (44% DV), 100 gm grass fed beef (30% DV), 1 Yogurt (10% DV), 1C mushroom 9%, 1 C spinach 9%, 1 Avocado 8 % only a few of many other food sources that u can easily consume
Vitamin D - we need 1000-4000-unit vitamin D daily and the best source for vitamin D is sun exposure however the healthy time exposing our skin under sun is only 10-15 minutes without a sun blocking lotion. Hence, we consume either Vitamin D containing food (fish (salmon, tuna, cod), spinach, mushroom, egg yolk, avocado, red meat and more. Vitamin D supplements are also efficient way to keep Vitamin D level in the body.
Vitamin A- Carrots, sweet potato, beef liver, spinach
Vitamin B- is necessary for normal cell metabolism, helps relieving fatigue, bone and brain health. Red meat, fish, chicken, eggs, dairy products. nuts and seeds are good source of Vitamin B.
Vitamin C- citrus family, berries, tomato, spinach, kiwi, broccoli cabbage .
Getting a balanced and healthy diet, try to keep all rainbow colors on the table and enjoy simplicity of the food.

I enjoy so much the distinctive fragrance all over around me when I harvest herbs from my mini herb garden. I feel refreshed and in perfect amity with the nature.
Each one of them have different shape of leaves, fragrance, purpose of consuming in the kitchen but also have so many health benefits. Herbs contain vital antioxidants, vitamins, phytosterols, (The simplest definition of phytosterols if following, they are vegetable oil that made by plant itself. When they are consumed, they compete with body cholesterol for absorption in digestive system. And block the absorption of body cholesterol therefore blood cholesterol being reduced.) and plant derived substances help us to boost our body’s immunity to fight against germs and environmental toxins. From ancient time to the date today, herbs cleanse our body, mind and spirit in different ways. Despite the fact we use herbs daily, moderation and awareness of their usage are very important. Besides their health benefits, herbs commonly used to enhance the flavor of our food not essential ingredient of the food. Please search herbs individually how it suits in your wellbeing. |
REVIEWING OUR VALUES AFTER February 2020
See "the good” in everything and everyone
Indeed, so many things seem impossible until you look from the heart!
Life may take sharp turns at any time unexpectedly carrying despair with in, until we experience compassion in one another then misery turns to a Hope!
That is what we have been living in last three months. Our daily routines, habitual behaviors, seasonal and essential shopping, travel plans, even visiting friends and relatives changed drastically as well as consequences of urban life style was huge once the pandemic hit our world.
It started with people herding gloves and masks all the way from January 2020, continued with toilet paper and cleaning agents! First time in my life I started seeing empty shelves in the stores. Then all of a sudden, we locked ourselves in our homes, started wearing masks in public, having a doubt of one another’s hygiene habits and there it came many more public or personal regulations. Hospitals started working above their capacity and apparently many lives being lost! In the meantime, all front responders expected to show endurance without any complaints yet they were the most vulnerable. Eventually pandemic made inequity visible in the society.
Gratefully witnessing, for people caring for each other, being happy for health for one another in the midst of economic, social, political turmoil was a big hope, which shows that we ‘the human race” were not lost spiritually in our technologically developing world.
I see homeschooling kids were decorating their windows with “hearts cut from colorful paper”
I see Graffiti es on the streets says “Strong we are together!”
I see grandmothers read stories to the grand kids on zoom cameras!
I see so many volunteers cook and serve free for poor ones!
I see tired Nurses Doctors applauding for recovered patients!
I see older women making masks at home and send to the hospitals!
I see younger people shopping for elderlies!
I see more people enjoyed home cooking and enjoying food with family!
It goes on and on, many more good things happening!
Indeed, many of these were already happening before the pandemic but now we all are vulnerable and taking risk to help each other!
After giving a brake kissing, hugging and a handshaking for a while people creatively started adapting from Wakanda Salute, to Vulcan hand gestures to Elbow bump as long as bodies don’t go in to the dangerous proximity. All types of greetings are good, of course simply waving to each other and saying – Hello! from the heart works always!
Enjoy Life and One another company while we are still here and remember there is always a reason to smile as long as we can Breathe!

Stay Healthy During Flu Season 2020
It is a flu season, and yes, I agree flu vaccination is necessary, especially for children, elderlies and for the people with critical health conditions. If you see the statistics, vaccination prevents millions of influenza or influenza related medical visits every year. Studies show flu vaccination reduce the severity of flu even person gets flu after vaccination. Indeed, if you have special health conditions always see dr. before you get the vaccination.
My other and as much important practice to prevent flu or cold is being conscience about our diet and consume preventative foods and remedies.
Almonds boost immune system, Flax seed boost your energy, Manuka honey has antimicrobial properties, Ginger stimulate the immune system to kill the virus. The most popular use of turmeric to protect the body against drug resistant virus. Cayenne pepper has a compound to give a nasal passage comfort. And all citrus family shorten the duration of sickness. Cinnamon reduce the stomach acid if you consume citrus produce.
And of course, keeping our body hydrated (water basically) increase the immune response to fight with the virus.
More to prevention against the flu virus are mushrooms, which have antiviral remedies that strengths our body against the virus. Garlic has properties that increase white blood cells to fight pathogens, Pumpkin seeds has zinc for the support of immunity as well as plain yogurt and chicken soup.
Taking this information into consideration to keep our body strong enough not to get the flu and be more energetic, I would recommend 1 Tbsp. of our “Winter boost” paste every morning. It is tasty also friendly for the sensitive stomachs because recipe has cinnamon in it.
My other recipe is almond milk-ginger tea. You may consume almond-ginger tea throughout the day any time you want. You can reheat couple times.
Stay warm and enjoy the recipes everyone. Please don’t forget your morning exercise routine.
Happy Winter where ever you are at! Time is precious!
