Chestnut turkey stuffing
Ingredients
3 sticks (1 ½ C) of Butter 1 C Onion (chopped in cubes) 1 ½ Celery stalk (diced) 1 turkey Italian seasoned sausage (sautéed) 1/3 C white button mushroom (sliced and slightly sautéed) 15 oz. home-style prepared sage seasoned croutons 1 Tbsp. basil 1 Tbsp. rosemary 1 Tbsp. sage 1/2 Tbsp. marjoram 1 Tbsp. thyme 1 tsp. salt 1tsp. grounded peppercorns 1/3 C dried cherry (crumbled) 3/4 C cooked peeled chestnuts 1/2 C walnut (crumbled)) 2 egg (whipped) 2 C chicken Stock (warm) Making: Melt the butter in small saucepan Add onions sauté until they get translucent Add celery sauté for another 2-3 minutes Add sautéed turkey sausage Add sautéed mushrooms Sauté altogether couple more minutes Add spices mix gently Add cherry, chestnuts and walnuts Finally stir in the croutons Stir all in once and transfer in to the baking dish Drizzle whipped egg on the stuffing Drizzle the warm chicken stock all at once Bake in 350F oven for 1 hour. 11/27/2018 Back to Poultry Page |
