Cheeseburger with home made bun
HOME MADE BUN and CHEESEBURGER
Hamburger buns can be bought from the market, but I prefer making at home because no additives put in. Ingredients for making cheeseburger 8 ea. Homemade hamburger buns 8 ea. Grilled hamburgers 8 slices of mozzarella squares 8 slices of medium cheddar squares 8 slices of tomato Sliced cucumber pickles Lettuce Mustard Mayonnaise** Ingredients for BUNS 1 C warm milk or water (105 F/41C) 1/4 C olive oil 1 pack (1Tbsp) dry active yeast 1 Egg 2 Tbsp. sugar 1 Tsp. salt 3 ½ C unbleached Flour Making Whisk together yeast, egg, olive oil, and sugar, salt. Add warm water. Add 1 C flour whisk gently by wooden fork Add another Cup flour, mixture gets thick, sticky and heard to mix with fork Add another Cup of flour and try to put the dough together by hand At this time sprinkle some flour under the dough and try to form soft dough not too sticky and separating from the edge of the bowl. ATTN: ** at the stage you may or may not use all last 1/2 C of Flour. But if you used all then don’t add more flour any more. Knead it for couple of minutes. Cover the bowl Let is stand at the warm place for about 30. Min. until dough raises one half of the size. Bring the dough on to floured surface get rid of the air gently knead the dough bring to an elliptic shape. Divide the dough 8 or 9 pieces. Roll each piece into a bun shape Dunk in a warm water and set the buns 1.5 inch apart on the baking sheet covered cookie tray. Brush the buns with egg yolk Cover the buns. Let it set on the warm place for at least an hour until buns become double the size. Set the oven 365 F (190 C) When the buns are ready bake them for 25 Minutes Cool on the rack upon taking out of the oven Making Cheeseburgers 2 Lb. beef ground round 1 medium size onion 3/4 C breadcrumbs 1 ea. Garlic clove 1 egg 1 Tsp. salt 2 tsp. grounded black pepper Grate the onion and garlic in the food processer Bring all ingredients together knead the meat dough divide in 7-8 pieces and give a shape of hamburger petites. Grill or pan fry hamburgers Place the cheese squares on the grilled hamburgers **Mayonnaise: I prefer making my own mayonnaise also 2 boiled yolks 3 Tbsp. olive oil 1tsp. salt 1/2 lemon juice 2 minutes high speed in the food processor Fixing a Cheeseburger Divide each hamburger bun spread little mayo on the inside of each part. Place the cheeseburger on one side and place tomato slice, lettuce, pickle and top with mustard put the other half of the bun Enjoy your burger J Dip note: as you see there is no onion ring in the recipe Because onion is already in the hamburger/ So this is my style I hope You enjoy.
